Our Story

Daniel and I met while doing a school program in Costa Rica. During the day, he worked on a farm, and I worked in an orphanage. In the evening, we took Spanish courses together. Later, after I headed home to the Rose City, Daniel stayed to climb the tallest peak in the country, Chirripó. When he returned we became friends. We bonded over bicycles, runs, walks, coffee shops, and protests around Portland. We fell in love in a city of bridges.

Daniel finished his degree in sociology, and I finished mine in English and creative writing. After working for a bit, we took to the open road. We left together to explore places we had never been before: the Grand Canyon, a ghost town  in the Mojave Desert, the Sierra Nevadas and Sequoia National Park, Canyonlands in Utah, and the Trinity Alps in California. We backpacked and stayed with family and friends, and ended up with jobs in Washington at a summer camp (which didn't last long!). After hiking around Mt. Hood, we said 'goodbye' to Oregon, crammed our stuff into a minivan, and moved to Logan, Utah.

Here, I started back at school to become a nurse. We dance, hike, snowshoe, cook and eat. He writes love songs for Hero, our pup, and helps me to keep our little place clean and cozy.We are so lucky to have looked out from numerous coastlines and peaks. We are partners on the trail and in life, and we both love to write! In a few short months, we will get to celebrate with all of you in Victor, Idaho. We can't wait!
